Yep get ready for Salt 2! Well, it comes as no surprise since the first film's ending was left wide open for a potential sequel. As of Mid-August the first film has already recouped its budget: the film has already cashed in $190 million for a production budget of $110 million. So it would make sense for Sony to greenlit a sequel: the character of Salt is now established and Sony would maximize its profits by building a franchise around her.<br /><br />Scriptwriter Kurt Wimmer revealed he's got a few ideas for how to advance the story of Salt. I wish they'd taken more time to introduce Salt and her background though... but the film was definitely entertaining, and Angelina Jolie rocks as a super spy.
